Good Samaritan Helps Out
Stranger buys house, gives it back.

DALLAS - A
Then one of those strangers bought it back for her.
Now Tracy Orr can return to her Pottsboro home, making payments to the woman who unexpectedly and impulsively bought it for her.
"It means so much to all of us," Orr told
Marilyn Mock said she was acting on instinct on Saturday when she decided to buy a house she had never seen for a woman she had never met. Mock was at the foreclosure auction to help her 27-year-old son bid on a house when she struck up a conversation with Orr, who was crying about losing her home.
Orr had bought the house for $80,000 in 2004 but fell behind on the payments. She lost her job a month after taking out the loan, and earlier this year she lost the house. On the spot, Mock decided to buy it, eventually bidding $30,000.
"She didn't even know if I had a job or was a nut case," Orr said in a story for Wednesday's online edition of The Dallas Morning News. "She didn't even see a picture of the house."
Mock told a crying Orr she could stay in the house, making payments to her instead of a bank.
"She needed help. That was it," Mock told the newspaper. "I just happened to be there and anybody else would have done the same thing."
Orr said she hopes others will do as Mock did.
"More than my house, she gave me something inside, and that's more important than material or financial things," she said.
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us?
Love God. Love Others. Jesus tells us that all of the commandments are wrapped up in that kind of love. That's what an abiding relationship with Jesus is all about.
Check out the study notes from the Life Application Study Bible:
3 Principles About Loving Our Neighbor
- Lack of love is often easy to justify, even though it is never right.
- Our neighbor is anyone of any race, creed, or social background who is in need.
- Love means acting to meet the person's need.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
Loving God and loving others means we must be prepared to put that love into action. Are you? Spend some time today in prayer, asking God to show you anyone in your life who has seemed "hard to love." Ask God to prompt you when the chance to be a Good Samaritan arrives.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
Ask God to reveal someone to you today who might need help. Decide in advance to be the "Good Samaritan" who provides the help. Thank God immediately if He gives you such an opportunity.

Death Threats
Elisabeth Hasselbeck Receiving Death Threats For McCain Support
Having engaged in heated arguments with her "View" co-hosts over the current presidential election between senators Barack Obama and John McCain, it’s no surprise conservative Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck has received the lion's share of crackpot death threats made to the show.
Known for rocking a self-designed "AmeriMcCain Hero" t-shirt on the popular women's daytime talk-show, Hasselbeck has been outspoken in recent weeks over her support of McCain and his running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. On Monday, Hasselbeck joined Palin during a rally in Kissimmee Florida to counter recent criticisms of the vice-presidential nomine's $150,000 wardrobe shopping spree.
And while Hasselbeck and her "View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg couldn't disagree more on who the next president should be, according to Goldberg, Hasselbeck is not only providing much-needed counterpoint to the show's ongoing political debates, but is doing so despite receiving the most death threats of anyone on the show.
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us?
The Jews in Jesus' time on earth were busy hoping for a worldly King, and completely missed Christ as He came in the form of a servant. The pharisees and religious people hated Jesus' message. His idea of love, grace, and forgiveness didn't match with their agenda for law and perfection. As a result, Jesus was hated for His message. He didn't just receive death threats ... He received the ugliest death penalty.
How can we connect God's Story scripture to our lives?
Jesus' words in John 15:18-25 are a little scary, but a great reminder. If we're being persecuted for our Christian faith, we must remember how Jesus Himself was persecuted. When we're hated, we must remember that the world hated Him first. We'll never experience even a fraction of the pain and suffering that Jesus felt as He placed the sins of the entire world on His body.
Since we are Christ's servants, the world will ultimately treat us just like they treated our Master. But Jesus reminds us that there is no excuse for their sin. Has anyone ever mocked you for being a Christian? If so, know that you aren't the first. Christians have been threatened and criticized for centuries - all the way back to Jesus Himself. The book of James provides great encouragement in times like this: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him" (James 1:2-5)
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
Elisabeth Hasselbeck received death threats for supporting John McCain. Jesus received more than threats. He was sent to death on a cross for supporting the work of His Father. We may experience threats and persecution for following Christ. Jesus gave us clear warning, but the scriptures also provide many promises. We know that trials will ultimately lead to maturity in our abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.
As you encounter friends who don't yet know Jesus, be prepared for some resistance to your message. You may even be hated for your beliefs, but sustaining your relationship with Jesus is more important. Stand firm in your faith. Do not be shaken. Encourage other believers around you today. We know that resistance to Jesus is a reality, but your unwavering commitment to Christ will ultimately be rewarded.

How About a Little RESPECT?!
A West Hollywood Halloween display showing a likeness of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin hanging by a noose has caused a furor among some residents who reported it as a hate crime, authorities said Monday.
But
(Story excerpt from The Denver Post).
The display always has Senator John McCain coming out of the chimney on fire. Politics aside - does anyone else have a problem with this?
West Hollywood Mayor Jeffrey Prang brought a little sanity to the situation with this quote on Laist.com:
"I respect that we all have the right to freedom of speech," began Prang. "However, with that right comes responsibility. While these residents have the legal right to the display of Senator McCain and Governor Palin, I strongly oppose political speech that references violence - real or perceived. Politics in America has become extremely polarized in recent years and we all have a responsibility to focus on our political differences in a thoughtful, and peaceful manner. I urge these residents to take down their display and find more constructive ways to express their opinion."
Thank you Mr. Mayor!
1 Peter 2:13-17 (New Living Translation)
13 For the Lord's sake, accept all authority - the king as head of state, 14 and the officals he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish all who do wrong and to honor those who do right. 15 It is God's will that your good lives should silence those who make foolish accusations against. you. 16 You are not slaves; you are free. But your freedom is not an excuse to do evil. You are free to live as God's slaves. 17 Show respect for everyone. Love your Christia brothers and sisters. Fear God. Show respect for the king.
God's desires are pretty clear here:
- We accept and respect all authority "for the Lord's sake." God wants us to love each other so much that disrespecting someone is disrespecting Him! Even if we differ with someone politically or otherwise, as the Mayor points out, we have the responsibility to find a peaceful way to express our differences. When we do that, we do it "for the Lord's sake" because we do what He would do. The Mesage says, "Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens."
- Our freedom ends when we use it as "an excuse to do evil." Bottom line - when evil, wrong, mean, rude, crude things are done - we all lose!
- God expects us to respect everyone. He made them, loves them and wants them to follow him.
We are free, but we are "free to live as God's slaves." God will never force us to treat people with respect. But we are free to choose to be 100% committed to what He asks us to do as His follower. And He asks us to "respect everyone."
- "Do for others what you would like them to do for you" (Matthew 7:12, NLT).
- "Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible" (Romans 12:18, NLT).
- "Try to live at peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life..." (Hebrews 12:14, NLT).
Verse 15 talks about the effect of our love and respect for others. It says, "Your good lives should silence those who make false accusations against you."
When we treat people with respect, it is much harder for them to talk badly about us, or the Jesus we follow. My freedom to hold back that nasty comment, or to make that thoughtful compliment will certainly silence those who want to attack us. It may even get their attention enough to make them wonder why they aren't as nice!
Maybe you can't change the world. But you can change YOU! How about a little RESPECT out there!

Identity Crisis
Will the real you please stand up?
Beyonce would like to be known as "Sasha Fierce"
10/23/2008 1:00 PM, Reuters
Just like the "Seinfeld" episode where George wanted everyone to call him "T-Bone," Beyonce Knowles would like to be known by a bold new name.
The R&B singer has christened herself "Sasha Fierce" for her new double album, "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," due in U.S. stores on November 18, and has released a lengthy justification for the comical moniker.
"I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am," the former Destiny's Child frontwoman said in a statement.
(Reporting by Dean Goodman; Editing by Belinda Goldsmith)To see full story, go to music.yahoo.com
What does God's Story scripture teach us about our identity as Christ-followers?
Beyonce has created a "new identity"...one that she believes will protect her and who she really is". Doesn't that make you wonder...does she really know who she is...and...is this really protecting her...or is it keeping her from living freely as God intended?
As Christ-followers, God has given us a new identity and this keeps us from needing to make up "an image" like so many around us are working to maintain. The TRUTH about who you are comes straight from God's Word.
- You have been saved and are free from sin! (Rom.6:6-7)
- You are God's children. (John 1:12-13)
- You are God's friend. (John 15:15)
- You have the promise of eternal life. (John 5:24)
- You are here for a purpose. (Eph.2:10)
- God lives in you! (John 14:26)
- Nothing can ever separate you from Him. (Rom.8:38)
And that's just a few promises that God gives us about who we are in Him...there's much more where that came from!
How does God's Story connect with my story?
- Start living out your new identity! Remember every day that you are a child of the King and that you can live in freedom!
- Stop wearing masks. Some of us have a certain mask that we wear at school, another one we have for soccer practice, yet another one we put on at home...and, of course, there's that one we have worn at church since we can remember. We think, like Beyonce, that this protects us, but the reality is that it keeps us from really living. Being the same in every situation...and being real about wearing the identity that God has given us...is a freeing way to live.
- Start living to please God and Him alone. In I Thess.2:4 Paul reminds us that we are not trying to please men, but God, who tests our hearts. In the end, the opinions of others won't matter and only the opinion of our Father will.
How does today's story, God's Story scripture and my story connect with others?
- One of the best ways to live a Christian life that attracts your friends to Christ is to live authentically. They can sense a phony from a mile away. At the same time, they can see a genuine life just as clearly...and when they see that in you, they will want to know more.
- As you are taking off your mask, it may allow your friends to trust you with their junk. Imagine if they see you as "having it all together" and then you share with them how that really isn't the case...this may free them up to share some of their hurts, fears and failures too...but their masks that are "protecting them" won't come off until they see you lead in this.
- Think of a friend that you know is living behind a mask...and pray that they may one day know the freedom of living for God alone and having a NEW IDENTITY like you do!

Going the Extra Mile
Story and picture courtesy of www.abc11togo.com, Oct. 24, 2008
Diesel fuel was on heavy discount at a rural Wisconsin convenience store -- just 59 cents a gallon. That is, until the owner discovered he had left off the other $3 while changing the price in his computer.
Mohinder Singh estimates 50 to 75 customers took advantage of the mistake at his Lyons Shell Plaza last weekend, costing him more than $4,000.
He says he changed the price about noon Saturday, and it stayed at 59 cents until he arrived at 7 a.m. Sunday and saw a warning light indicating the diesel tank had only 200 gallons left.
Eighteen-year-old Jordan Koster knew something was wrong when he filled his pickup's 30-gallon tank for only $10. He told his father, and his father advised him to make things right.
The teen stopped Monday and paid the full amount.James 4:17
Anyone then who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it sins (NIV).
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about doing what is right?
Today's God's Story scripture makes it all too clear that not doing something (for any reason), when we know it is the right thing to do, is a sin. Although 18 year old Jordan Koster may not have done anything wrong (in the eyes of most) he understood that the way he capitalized on Mr. Singh's mistake just wasn't right. Thankfully, Jordan had a father who, obviously, had worked hard to teach him the difference between right and wrong, and who encouraged him to do the right thing. Likewise, we have a Father (God) who only wants the best for us and who gives us His Spirit and Word to teach us how to live righteously . . . so that when the situation arises, we will know the good we ought to do and do it!
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture with our lives?
- Is there a time in this last week that you failed to do what you knew was right? Perhaps it was even something as simple as giving a hug to someone you knew was hurting, praying for a friend, or even cleaning your room when your mom asked you to? Pray and ask God to forgive your sin - thank Him for giving His Spirit to help you discern right from wrong.
- Sometimes doing what you know is right isn't such an easy thing - it may take a lot of guts to go the extra mile (like Jordan did) and act when you know something isn't right. Pray for God to give you the courage you need the next time you're faced with the decision to act and do the right thing.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
God gives us opportunitites all the time to do what's right and to help others. We don't know if Jordan is a Christian, but we can be sure that his actions spoke volumes into Mr. Singh's life when he returned to pay what he owed him for the gas!
When we do what is truly right, our story will naturally shine God's Story to others! The next time you feel the Spirit nudging you to do something (whether easy or extremely uncomfortable and difficult), DO IT and see how your story, fully enveloped in God's Story, connects with those around you!

Real Friends!
Disney's "High School Musical" phenomenon leaps onto the big screen in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," in which
The HSM trilogy has given us a glimpse into the lives of the fictional East High Wildcats. Throughout the trilogy, friendships have been tested, and now, as they face the reality that high school is nearing an end, the tests are bound to grow more challenging. But how will it end? Will the friendships survive saying goodbye?
Proverbs 18:24
There are "friends" who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (New Living Translation)
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about friendship?
Real friends are like family!! God's Story is full of wisdom on what it means to be a real friend. Take a look at just a few verses from the New Living Translation:
Proverbs 17:17 - "A friend is always loyal ..."
Proverbs 27:17 - "As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend."
John 15:13 - "... the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."
God takes friendship very seriously, and so should we.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
- Take a look at your friendships. Ask yourself if your friends are real friends? Or are they "friends" who destroy each other way too often?
- Ask God to help you become a real friend to others.
- Ask God to forgive you for the times you may have been on the destroying side of a friendship.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
- When HSM3 comes up in conversation this weekend, take that opportunity to begin a discussion about your friendships.
- Find someone in your everyday life who needs a real friend, then make a commitment to stick closer to them than family.
- Make the most of your time in high school by building friendships that will last, even beyond your high school years.
- Pray for your friends who aren't following Jesus. Ask God for opportunities to share His Story with them.

A look at Godlessness
Diddy's Decadent Lifestyle
It's no secret Diddy has a soft spot for the finer things, but is he enjoying a lifestyle so extravagant even Caligula would tip his toga in admiration? A woman who claims to have spent some quality time with the mogul is yapping to the London Sunday Mirror about the many, many minions his high-maintenance ways apparently require.
"Sean's life has to be seen to be believed. He calls himself The King -- and even Prince Charles cannot be any more demanding than he is," alleges one Nai Bacha, who tells the paper she had a "torrid 10-month affair" with the so-called potentate. "He has a cast of thousands to ensure his life is perfect. They hang on his every need ..."
And just what are some of Diddy's needs, besides the personal umbrella holder that was once in his employ? It turns out his given name -- Sean Combs -- may be more than apt given the care he takes with his coiffure.
The chatty Bacha marvels that he travels with a personal barber: "That's the only man on the planet who can trim his hair or give him a shave. Sean never shaves himself."
Then there's his wardrobe, which is as extensive as you'd expect from a guy with his own fashion line.
"Sean is always immaculately dressed and that takes military precision," she yammers to the paper. "He has one guy in charge of his wardrobe, another who's responsible for putting different outfits together. When he came to London he had wardrobes filled with suits. There were about 80 from the biggest designers in the world -- but only in black or white. The cheapest cost about $4,000."
Other staffers on hand are said to include: a personal mixologist with the cushiest gig ever ("There was someone whose sole job for the day was to mix Sean's favorite cocktail -- Patron Silver tequila with ice. He wasn't allowed to make drinks for anyone else"); DJ ("Sean also has someone whose only job is to play his own records wherever he goes. I never heard him listening to anyone else's music"); and bling security ("He has about four security guards for the jewels alone").
But Bacha says Diddy also likes to spread the wealth around. He supposedly showered her with "diamonds and designer clothes" when they were dating and sometimes dropped up to $200,000 on a single night out by buying "the most expensive champagne and tequila for the whole club -- he's extremely generous."

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about godlessness in the last days?
The "last days" that Paul wrote about refer to the days after the resurrection of Jesus and will continue until Christ's second coming. This means that not only are we living in the "last days" now, but every day that passes in 2007 brings us closer to the return of Christ.
Paul says that "people will be lovers of self...of pleasure rather than lovers of God".
It's pretty obvious that superstar Diddy is pretty messed up. When you consider his perspective on material possessions, women, sex, and his self given title "The King", there's no doubt that he loves himself and godless pleasure rather than God.
But before we get real righteous by bashing Diddy, we need to take a look at ourselves.
We claim to be followers of Jesus. But what do we seek more often, pleasure or God?
Worldly pleasures are easily obtainable, while God is uncontainable. The pleasures available in this life seem to benefit us now, while the benefits of loving God are often in the future.
Loving God rather than loving pleasure means we must let go of our pride, selfish desires, and accomplishments. Loving God with all of our heart, strength and mind requires complete surrender to God in every part of our lives.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
- Honestly answer these questions to yourself and to God: On a daily basis, are you choosing to love pleasure or to love God? Is there anything you love more than God?
- Are you guilty of anything on Paul's list in today's scripture? Let God forgive you. He loves you.
- Rather than giving in to culture's pressures, stand up against secular perspectives by abiding in Jesus every day. Keep a written journal to track your spiritual growth.
- Pray right now for Jesus to point out to you the changes that are needed in your life for you to love God with "all of your heart, strength and mind". Ask Jesus to give you the courage to stand up for God's Truth in our culture every day. Thank Jesus for His love for you which is beyond human understanding.
How can you connect today's story and God's Story scripture and your story to others?
- Pray for Sean 'Diddy' Combs to encounter Jesus. Pray that someone who knows Jesus will have the opportunity to learn his story and share their story of faith and God's Story with him.
- The topic of loving pleasure rather than God is illustrated every day in our culture and especially in the media. Look for those conversational moments with others when you can be real about your own struggles in this area. This would be a great way to share part of your story.

A Mountain out of a Mole Hill
Fla. woman arrested over $7 breakfast bill
Maryanne O'Neill, 66, was charged with "defrauding an innkeeper" after she refused to pay a $7.45 bill on Saturday at the Waffle House in Fort Pierce, Fla., TCPalm.com reports.
"O'Neill said she was not going to pay for her food," the police report says, according to the paper. "I asked O'Neill again to pay for her food and she plain refused to."
She was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail. The story doesn't give any indication as to why O'Neill didn't want to pay for her breakfast.
Excerpt from USAToday.com story.
"And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus..." (Colossians 3:17a, The Living Bible).
Wouldn't it be nice if we could live up to this verse? What if we really asked that question made famous back in the 90's: "What would Jesus do?" Or expand on that thought:
- What would Jesus do?
- What would Jesus say?
- Where would Jesus go?
- Who would Jesus go there with?
- What would Jesus NOT do?
- What would Jesus NOT say?
- Where would Jesus NOT go?
- Who would Jesus NOT go there with?
You get the idea. The eight questions above would screen out a lot of activities, statements, and relationships that get us into a lot of trouble in life. Avoiding bad choices would save us many negative consequences, protect our reputation and reflect positively on Jesus, who we say we follow!
The problem is that when we don't ask what Jesus would do, we fall into the habit of only caring about what we want to do. And usually selfish choices are not the best choices. The more self-centered we become, the more ridiculous we look. We find ourselves:
- Worrying about what others think of us instead of taking time to even notice them.
- Arguing for our "rights" even if it hurts someone else's.
- Telling everyone the details of our story, but not being at all interested in their story.
- Getting all bent out of shape over the littlest of things ("making a mountain out of a mole hill").
- Stubbornly refusing to ever admit we might be wrong - even if we go to jail over $7.45!!!
I do not know the rest of the Waffle House story. Maybe the syrup was cold. Maybe the eggs were runny. Maybe the service was poor. Maybe Ms. O'Neill just had a really bad morning. But Jesus would have paid for the breakfast.
As your friends hang out with you they watch what you say, where you go, who you go there with and what you do when you get there. More importantly they watch how you interact with the cashier at Burger King when they get your order wrong. They see you get a paper back with a grade you think is unfair. They see you talk with your parents, see you work hard in practice, and put in an honest hour's work for an hour's pay.
In short they see you do what Jesus would do. Your friends just may be attracted to the Jesus you follow. A million years from now you'll just laugh about cold waffles. You'll really laugh if your friend is in heaven laughing with you!

Prove it!
Phony biblical relics spark controversy
Medieval pilgrims would have understood the throngs who crowded Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum to see the James Ossuary. Only six years ago, the stone box inscribed "James, Son of Joseph, Brother of Jesus" in Aramaic, made Time magazine's cover and drew 100,000-person lines to see the limestone box that, by implication, may have once held the skeletal remain of Jesus' brother.
But like so many religious relics before, the ossuary, a two-foot-long box that Jewish inhabitants of burial-site-poor Jerusalem typically used to store remains around the First Century, A.D., turned out to have a checkered past. The 2002 vetting of the box's authenticity described in the magazine Biblical Archaeology Review came under fire quickly, from experts who complained the box's origins were unknown. Oded Golan, the antiquities dealer who owned the ossuary, only said he had bought it from another dealer in the 1970's.
Many outside experts, concluded the second part of the ossuary inscription, the reference to Jesus, was a fake, including the scholar Rochelle Altman who found that it "bears the hallmarks of a fraudulent later addition," and "is questionable to say the least." Others, such as Amnon Rosenfeld of the Geological Survey of Israel, continue to defend the inscription's authenticity.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22
21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (NIV)
What does God's Story scripture teach us about the proof behind our faith?
Today's story is yet another chapter in the long debate over the authenticity of relics that attempt to support Biblical accounts. Many artifacts are believed to be authentic by every expert that views them. Others are easily proved to be phonies. This one appears to still be in question.
We can be encouraged (and really shouldn't be surprised) when artifacts are discovered that support what we know to be true about Biblical history. We should not, however, be discouraged when such "findings" turn out to be false. The reason for this is simply in the fact that our faith lies not on hard physical proof, but on faith in the God who lives in us!
This scripture teaches us that we can be confident of our faith in Jesus Christ and His return because of the "deposit" that He has given to us. When you put a deposit down on a purchase, it is a guarantee that you will fulfill the rest of the agreement. When we expressed our faith in Jesus Christ, He promised to fill us with the Holy Spirit. It was His guarantee that what He promised will be fulfilled.
We also have His perfect Word (the Bible) that is true in every way. In I John 5:13, the apostle tells us that "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." John is telling us, "Hey...I actually hung out with Jesus! I saw all of this with my own eyes...you don't have to doubt...this stuff I am writing is true!"
Though we do have other proof...nothing more than His word and His Spirit in us is needed.
How can we connect God's Scripture story to our lives?
- Stand firm! When the news and media push you to doubt your faith at all...remember that the God of the universe lives in you...no one can argue with that!
- Since the Holy Spirit is God living in us, let's spend more time listening to Him and allowing Him to direct our daily decisions.
- Since the Bible is God revealing Himself through written word, let's spend more time reading it and living it!
How can we connect today's story, God's Story and our story to others?
Remember that, ultimately, we are God's best proof of His existence to those around us.
- When they see His love in our actions...they will know that He is real.
- When they see His truth in our words...they will know He is real.
- When they see His compassion and caring in our eyes...they will know He is real.
- When they see His provision through our giving of ourselves...they will know He is real.
They will know He is real...not because of some relic...but because there is no arguing the authenticity of God being lived out in His people.

Peek-A-Boo!
Imagine the surprise of one neighbor when he was called upon to help rescue this horse, found stuck in a tree in West Virginia!
The neighbor used a chain saw to cut the horse free from the tree - it was a successful rescue . . . the horse is fine!
Picture and story from www.foxnews.com
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about hiding from God?
Today we get a glimpse of the guilt and shame that Adam and Eve experienced after sinning against God. Their fears of facing God and their shame from sinning against Him led Adam and Eve to hide themselves in the trees and bushes, in hopes that God would not find them there.
I find God's response to be rather strange: But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" As if God, being GOD, didn't know exactly where Adam was! Can't you just picture God walking around the Garden, looking for Adam & Eve? Do you think He could have been giving Adam the opportunity to fess up, show himself, and admit that he'd sinned? Because, afterall, although He was disappointed in their choices, Adam & Eve's actions did not come as a surprise to God . . . even as He "searched" for them, God knew exactly where they were and what they'd done.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
How many times do you allow the sins in your life keep you from God? When the shame and guilt of your poor decisions creep in, do you find yourself withdrawing from worshiping, or spending time in the Word? Do you find yourself hiding from God and the things that could bring conviction? Or, do you take the opportunities God gives you to come out from hiding, show your face, and admit that you've wronged Him?
- Humble yourself, get down on your knees (or even your face) and pray for God to reveal any sins in your life that have kept you from fellowship with Him - seek forgiveness for any He brings to mind.
- Remember that God desires to be in close relationship with you. Thank Him for loving you, regardless of your poor decisions and for giving you opportunities to be reconciled to Him. He knows exactly where you are and how to meet you there!
How can we connect today's story, God's story, and our story to others?
- Pray for the friends that you know who may be allowing their sins to build walls of fear between them and God and, as a result, are spiritually hiding.
- Look for ways to connect your story with others by sharing how God has freed you from your guilt and shame when you've chosen to confess your struggles to Him.

Walk By Faith, Not By Sight

Travis Freeman is now a 27-year-old seminary student, pursuing a master's degree in theology with the goal of becoming a pastor in a local church. However, when Travis was twelve years old his life took a drastic turn. In less than 24 hours, Travis went from having 20/20 vision to complete blindness. Travis spent seventeen days in the hospital and nearly lost his life. From that day forward, Travis was forced to overcome many obstacles, but there was still one thing missing from his life - football.
Here's part of Travis' story from his website:
Football had been a large part of my life growing up. I was raised watching and playing the sport. I had a love for football, and I wanted to be a part of it. My mom went to my eighth-grade football coach and asked him if I could be a part of the team. He told her that I could not only be a part of the team, but I would play. The only position in football I could play was center. I had a guard on each side of me and the quarterback behind me. They would help me to and from the huddle, and then line me up over the ball. Next, they would tell me where my opponent was, whether he was left, right, or head up. I would snap the ball to the quarterback and make contact with my opponent. When this happened it was just like anyone else blocking. In August of 1994 I stepped foot on the football field as

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about faith?
There seems to be a lot of uncertainty these days. How do you handle that uncertainty? Today's God's Story scripture reminds us that we can rest assured because of faith.
The Message paraphrases Hebrews 11:1-2 like this:
"The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd."
Travis Freeman has had to lean on the truth of this verse in ways that many of us never will. Yet his example, that he truly 'walks by faith, not by sight,' is one worth following.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
- Thank God for the many blessings in your life. Thank Him for faithful family and friends in your life to be there with you during times of uncertainty.
- When you are uncertain or even fearful about the future, ask God to increase your trust and faith in Him.
- If there is a decision you need to make about your future, seek the advice of a Christ follower whom you trust to guide you in the right direction.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
- If you find yourself at a football game this weekend, or even watching one on TV, ask someone if they've ever heard Travis Freeman's story. Let that conversation guide you into a conversation about God's Story.
- Talk with one another about what it might be like to walk through life, strictly walking by faith, without sight.
- Ask others what they are feeling about the future. Be prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have (1 Peter 3:15).
- Become a guide for a friend who seems to be fearful of the future.

He Moves the Immovable
Device helps monkeys move paralyzed wrists
news clip from Reuters.com
The finding may lead to treatments for people paralyzed with spinal cord or other injuries, they said.
"This was an initial demonstration that this type of technology is possible," said Chet Moritz of the University of Washington in Seattle, who reported his findings in the journal Nature.
The system essentially provides an artificial route for brain signals to reach paralyzed muscles, replacing a natural pathway that may have been disrupted by injury.
"The monkey's task was to play a very, very simple video game where he had to move his wrist back and forth ... in order to acquire targets that were presented on the screen," Moritz said. "The monkey could play this video game before he was paralyzed, so he understood the game."
It was the Centurian's faith that made His servant well. It was also His humility. The Centurian had a right view of God: Holy and set apart. He also had a right view of himself: undeserving. God's grace gets all of the glory in this story!
The Centurian understood authority. He understood that Jesus commanded the attention of all angels, and was God in flesh. He knew and trusted that Jesus had absolute power.
In His response, Jesus made sure that people understood our highest calling of citizenship: the Kingdom of Heaven. As believers in Christ, we are first and foremost children of the King and citizens of His kingdom.
The Centurian expressed some understanding in this citizenship. He believed in joining Jesus' Kingdom. Jesus was so impressed with the Centurian's faith that he also told those around him. He used the Centurian's story as a lesson to show others the power of faith in Christ.
God is working incredible miracles, even today. We should submit to Christ and have faith in His absolute authority in our lives. It's hard to trust Jesus sometimes -- but He deserves our unending trust and faith. He has proven Himself.
We should also celebrate that God designed humans with intellect and creativity. Let's celebrate that scientists may have discovered a new cure! God had designed and wired you with a creative mind to discover the solution to some of life's greatest challenges.
- Praise God today for absolute power and authority of Jesus Christ.
- Thank God for the creative work of this team of scientists!
- If you find it hard to trust Jesus, ask God for more faith.
Some of your friends who don't follow Jesus may have a hard time believing today's scripture story. They may trust the intellect of the scientists, but have a difficult time believing that Jesus could cure anyone with a single sentence.
As you interact with your friends, think of a story where Christ has really pulled through for you. Tell a current story about Jesus Christ as the rescuer of your story. Your own testimony is powerful. Current stories are really powerful.
If you can't think of a current story of how God has worked in your life, challenge yourself to watch more closely. Depend on Jesus for every situation, and be quick to give Him all of the glory in conversation with your friends!
It's so important that we tell our friends how much we actually need Jesus ... today ... right now.

What's in a name?
Who Is Cutout Dissection.com?
A PETA intern (formally known as Jennifer Thornburg) has officially changed her name to Cutout Dissection.com. What made her decide to do this?
"I changed my name in order to raise awareness about the six million animals that are killed for dissection each year. In middle school I dissected a chicken. I wasn't into the idea of dissecting an animal, but when I asked my teacher for an alternative, he said that I could only have it if I went vegetarian for the two weeks leading up to the dissection. I thought that was crazy, at the time, so I went through with the project. Looking back, I can't remember much from the actual dissection; I know now that using an alternative would have been much more educational, and I also know that it's definitely not crazy to be a vegetarian, too.
My fellow interns call me Cutout, but my family still calls me Jenny."

John 15:15 The Message
I no longer call you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking. No, I've named you friends, because I have let you in on everything I've heard from the Father.
What does God's Story scripture teach us about our name?
Clearly this girl is passionate about preventing dissection of animals. Isn't amazing how people can become so convinced of something they stake their name on it?
This season NFL player, Chad Johnson went to the extreme of legally changing his last name to Ocho-Sinco. The name refers to Johnson's jersey number, 85.
Our names are important. Given to us at birth by our parents, people have gone to great lengths to both protect their good name and lend it to causes they feel strongly about.
Most parents spend time considering what to name their child. They search for meanings and choose names that will define, honor, and describe their offspring.
Our Heavenly Father, God, has names for us as well. Here are just a few that come straight from the Bible.
Apple of my eye, Son/Daughter, Precious, Beloved,
Cherished, Sheep of his hand, God's Image bearer, Friend...
Aren't you glad that God's names for us define not who we are but who He is? In other words, we aren't given the names that describe us, but the names that describe how deeply God loves us despite who we really are. Imagine if God named us by what we did.
Sinful one, Selfish friend, Ungrateful daughter,
Disobedient son, Angry teenager, Failing Algebra...
No, God sees us (and names us) not as we are but thru the lenses of his deep love despite who we are. He is passionate about us and names us accordingly.
What difference would it make in you if everyday you reminded yourself, that you are precious, beloved, and a friend of God? Names are powerful; try a few of God's names for you on for a change.
How does God's Story scripture connect with my story?
- Spend some time in the scriptures and see if you can find some more names that God has for you.
- Choose one of the names that means the most to you. Now try getting up each morning for a week and saying that name five times before you start your day. For example: "I am a friend of God" repeated five times before your feet hit the floor.
- Make a list of the names of God that we see in scriptures. Remind yourself of who He is in your life.
How can we connect today's story, God's story and my story with others?
- Tell your friend about the girl from the article who changed her last name for a cause. Ask them if there is anything they are passionate enough about to change their name for. Talk about God's passion for us and the names He calls us.
- Ask your friends if they know why their parents gave them their particular name. Is there a special meaning or were they named after a particular person? This can be a jumping off point to talk about how important names are and some of the names God calls us.
Share with your friend what it means to you to be called a "friend of God".

Gimme My Share!
What the Bible says about getting what is rightfully "ours"
Cambodian couple cuts home in half
An estranged couple in Cambodia has sawn their house in half. Moeun Rim and his wife, Nhanh, who have been married nearly 40 years, split the building last week following an argument, local officials said. Mr. Rim has removed his share of the property and the couple has also divided their land into four parts; two for their children, and two for them.
(To view the full story, visit BBC.com)
What does God's Story scripture teach us about getting what "we deserve"?
Do you remember riding in the back seat of a car with a sibling when you were little? Do you remember drawing an imaginary line down the middle of the seat that could not be crossed? Many of us have done this to stop arguments and formally declare what space was ours!
This Cambodian couple has taken that same immature and selfish behavior to a new level...and it's not one that is really worth imitating.
Today's passage, however, gives us a model that IS worth imitating. In the NIV, it says that your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. The model He gave us to follow was one of servanthood. It was one that put other's needs ahead of His own. It was one that let go of any "rights" he had for the sake of you and me.
He was God! If anyone had "rights" to anything good, it was Him! You and I, on the other hand, deserve death because we are sinful. Rom.6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.
Jesus put us first and considered our needs as more important than His own. Because of this, the death we truly deserve has been exchanged for the best gift that can be given...a personal and eternal relationship with God Himself!
How does God's Story scripture connect with my story?
- Stop and thank God for considering your needs above His own...which made it possible for you to receive forgiveness and life eternal.
- Ask God to inspect your heart to see if you are spending more time putting your needs first or the needs of others...be honest before Him.
- Then ask God to help you grow in this area of serving others before yourself. It won't happen on your own. You will definitely need His help...and He is able to turn the attitude of "gimme my share" to "how can I share?"
How can we connect today's story, God's story and my story with others?
- Start looking for opportunities to put others before yourself. It could mean going to the end of the line for food, giving up your seat in a crowded room so that someone else can sit, donating some clothes to a ministry that distributes those items to people who have much less or giving of your time to help someone.
- Are you ready for a really tough challenge? The next time someone treats you poorly...look for a way to serve them! Yes, you read that right...serve your enemies! Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:43-48 that even unbelievers do nice things for their friends...anyone can do that! But instead He instructed us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
- Once you start doing the 2 suggestions above, people will wonder what you have that they don't...and this will open up many opportunities to share about how God lives in you!

Diapers and Dentures
One after the other, the models strutted across the stage to bouncy '80s dance tunes, all showing off designs of the same article of clothing — adult diapers.
Japan has one of the world's most rapidly aging societies, and the fashion show Thursday proved the country's diaper producers are intent on keeping the elderly clean and dry.
"Diapers are something that people don't want to look at," said Kiyoko Hamada of the Aging Lifestyle Research Center, a leading organizer of the show.
"But if you make them attractive, then people can learn about them more easily," she said.
A survey by The Nikkei, Japan's leading business newspaper, showed sales of adult diapers have more than doubled over the past decade, reaching an estimated $500 million this year.
Speakers blared oldie hits such as "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood as models jaunted on the stage with diapers pulled on over black tights. (AP)

1 Corinthians 13:11
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. (NIV)
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about growing up in Christ?
I don't know how much you remember about things you said or did as a child, but I did some pretty silly and stupid things! I was naive and inexperienced and my view of life and God were pretty limited. Since the day I prayed to receive Christ, 25 years ago, I've had to learn and challenge myself to grow - as the Apostle Paul says in this passage, I've had to "put childish ways behind me." Can you imagine if I was still sitting around putting peas in my nose and whining and complaining about eating my vegetables?! Spiritually, some of us are doing just that! We've refused to grow up in our faith and knowledge of God; we've refused to submit to Christ and allow Him to mold and shape us into mature, fruit-bearing Christ followers! The only time we open our Bibles is at church on Sunday, when our pastor spoon feeds us and sends us on our way . . . if we continue on this path, we will one day find ourselves to be 80 years old, strutting around with silly pride, modeling our dentures and diapers!
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
- Ask yourself, "What are you doing today that is going to help you grow and mature in your relationship with Christ?"
- Make a plan to spend time regularly in prayer and scripture and ask someone to hold you accountable to your plan.
- Copy today's scripture passage on a note card and place it somewhere where you will see it daily. Use it as a reminder to strive every day to grow a little more in Christ.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
- As you grow and mature in your relationship with Christ others will notice! When they see you acting in love rather than selfishness, and grace rather than revenge, they will see Christ at work within you and they may even ask you about it! Don't be afraid to give Him the credit and all the glory - let your friend know that it's only because of God's grace and love that you are able to love others in that way!

Are You Walking In The Truth?!

JASPER, Indiana - Two challengers for an Indiana congressional seat have agreed to be hooked up to lie detectors during a debate, but an official with the incumbent's party dismisses the idea as "bizarre."
For complete story see www.foxnews.com.

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us?
Are you walking in the truth? Do you ever find it hard to tell the truth? When we do, everyone wins. John says in his letter to his friend, Gaius, that he rejoiced knowing that Gaius was walking in the truth. When we live a life of truth, those who have poured into us rejoice because of our truth. When we walk in truth, it brings them great joy, and becomes an encouragement to them in their own abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
- Pray, asking God to help you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth at all times.
- Commit to tell the truth at all times.
- Ask a close friend to help you always tell the truth.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
- Encourage a friend to choose the way of the truth if you see or hear them getting caught up in a lie.
- Listen closely to your friends and help them to walk in the truth.
- Remind others that in a world where you sometimes aren't certain who is telling the truth, that our Heavenly Father is the God of Truth!

Everyday Miracles
Small Plane Crashes in Houston Field, Pilot Suffers Only Minor Injuries
HOUSTON — A pilot reportedly suffered only minor injuries on Wednesday when the twin-engine airplane he was flying crash landed and burned in a field in southwestern Houston. A Houston Fire Department spokeswoman did not immediately return calls for details from The Associated Press. But news reports from the scene said the man was able to walk away from the aircraft before flames enveloped it. The crash happened about 7 a.m. There was no word on what caused the accident, where the aircraft was from or where it was headed. The identity of the pilot was also not released.

Paul tapped into this power. It wasn't Paul's own power, but the authority of Jesus working through him.
In Acts 28, we see Paul on the island of Malta with a group of people who had never heard the gospel of Jesus. A snake attacked Paul's hand as he was building a fire. This scared the people, who were sure that Paul would die. However, Paul - filled with the Holy Spirit - was able to shake the snake and continue His ministry unharmed. He followed that miracle by healing an island leader's sick father. Many people came to experience Paul's healing power.
The reality is this: It wasn't Paul's healing power at all. It was Paul's abiding connection with Jesus that gave Him power and authority to do these miraculous works.
- Pray that God would work in new ways IN and THROUGH you. Open your life to Jesus Christ and allow Him to use you like Paul.
- Look around you. Who needs a healing touch? Go and pray for them - today!
- Proclaim the gospel with boldness. Christ commands us to do this.
As you consider how you love your friends who don't know Jesus ...
- Offer to pray for a friend who isn't feeling well - physically or emotionally. Pray with them!
- Start a conversation with your friends who don't know Jesus. Ask: Does God still work miracles today?
- Seek out a conversation with your Christian friends.
Ask: Are you living and walking in the power of Jesus today, or are you going through the motions? - Find an accountability partner... someone who will ask you each day about your walk with Christ. Allow this person to challenge you into a consistent relationship with Jesus.

Freedom's Expense

"Overdue and Presumed Lost". In World War II those were the most feared words the families of a submarine crew could hear.
On July 30, 1942, the USS Grunion was in the Aleutian Islands of southwestern Alaska. It was a new submarine on its very first war patrol. It reported "heavy antisubmarine activity," was sent orders to head for the port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and was never heard from again. On August 16 it was listed as overdue and presumed lost. 70 crew members died.
And that would have been, as in too many other cases, the final, desperately sad end to the story, if not for the determination of some of the crew's children -- in particular, the sons of the Grunion's commanding officer.
Lt. Commander Mannert Abele left behind three boys, Bruce, Brad and John, and they decided to search for the Grunion. In 2006, using side-scan sonar, they located a wreck a mile down, off the island of Kiska, Alaska. Now the Pacific Command of the U.S. Navy has put out word confirming it is the Grunion.
"We hope this announcement will help to give closure to the families of the 70 crewmen of Grunion," said Rear Adm. Douglas McAneny, Commander, Submarine Forces Pacific Fleet, in a statement.
The Naval Historical Center put out a statement that said in part, "no amount of analysis or speculation will change or alter the fact that families lost fathers, husbands, uncles and brothers...the Navy and the nation will always be grateful for their service and their sacrifice."
(Photo above, of the USS Grunion in 1942, courtesy U.S. Navy. Partial story courtesy of Ned Potter at abcnews.com Oct.3,2008)
What does God's Story scripture teach us about ultimate sacrifice?
- Many people talk about how great it is to have freedom here in America. The 70 servicemen mentioned above did much more than talk...they paid the ultimate price by giving their lives so that others could experience freedom during this lifetime.
- In this passage, Jesus talks about this truth...that the ultimate act of love is to lay down your life for others. Jesus also did much more than talk...He made the greatest of all sacrifices so that you and I could experience freedom. The freedom He offers, however, is eternal!
How does God's Story scripture connect to my story?
How can we connect today's story, God's Story scripture and my story to others?
- Think of a family that you know who has someone serving overseas right now. Call them, write them a note or actually go and tell them that you are praying for their loved one...and then do it.
- Each day we hear of these brave men and women who pay the ultimate price in combat. Sometimes we see a flag at half mast in their honor. As discussions about this arise, perhaps you could ask your friend the question, "Do you think you could ever give your life for someone else?"...and then tell them about the One who did this for you.

Friend or Fraud?
"Panama City breeds a lot of interest, especially during the warm spring weather. But Jodee Berry, who was age 26 at the time, figured out a way to turn up the heat on a Hooters restaurant without changing the recipe of their hot wings. Jodee claimed that back in 2001, she was promised a new Toyota for winning a beer sales contest. But when her boss led her to the parking lot blindfolded, her prize was revealed to be a new toy Yoda (little green Jedi master from Star Wars). . . She claimed the promotion was a fraud."

What does today's God's Story scripture teach us about being a witness for Christ?
When a court of law calls an individual to be a witness for a case, they fully expect that individual to give their honest and best recollection of a situation, or series of events. Many times, it is this witness that helps a jury in determining the final judgment of a defendant. A witness who takes the stand only to tell lies and manipulate the truth can cause a jury to pass the wrong judgment against an individual, or group of people.
As Christians, our job is to be the best, most honest witness we can be for Christ. The world has placed Jesus on trial and we may be the only witness they see bearing testimony of His character and evidence of His faithfulness. If you're at all familiar with the philosophy behind living a 3story lifestyle, you know that authenticity is key - we can't show people how much they need Jesus without first showing them how much we need Jesus every day!
If we are bearing false witness by pretending to be someone we're not (perhaps, a "perfect" Christian) then we are doing nothing but harming the the case for Christ. Why are we sometimes tempted to lie, or not tell the "whole" truth when it comes to sharing our lives with others? Why are we tempted to make the Christian life sound better or more enticing than it is? Truth be told, it's tough!! But when we tell lies about our relationship with Christ and who He is in our lives, people feel dooped and we present Him as a fraud - something nobody wants to be a part of!
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
Are you a "fraud" when it comes to being a witness for Christ? Have you convinced those around you that your life or your relationship with Jesus ais more or different than it really is? What kind of witness are you? A truthful one, or one that tells lies?
- Pray and ask God to truly search your heart and reveal to you any way in which you are bearing false witness of Him. Confess it and ask for forgivness in those areas.
- Journal some reasons why you may be tempted to make your walk with Christ sound different than it truly is. How can you learn to be a more authentic and honest witness?
How can we connect today's story, God's Story scripture, and our story to others?
- Without sharing all of the "gory details," be honest with your friends about some of your struggles and share the ways in which God is helping you work through them. It can be a great way to help your friends better understand God's grace and forgiveness.
- When you allow yourself to be real and authentic with others, you will become more approachable to people around you. When they see that you still have a need for Jesus (as much today as the day you began a relationship with Him), they will see their need for Him as well.

Here, Kitty: Police Expect House Cat, Get Cougar
Satan Prowls Like A Roaring Lion!
CASPER, Wyo. - A police officer didn't think much of a call to shoo off a bothersome "kitty cat" at a home in Casper, Wyo. Then the officer arrived at the home of Beverly Hood. It was no ordinary domestic feline -but a male mountain lion weighing 80 to 90 pounds.
Officer Mike Ableman says he ran for cover inside Hood's home when he saw the cougar.
Hood says she was inside when she first saw the mountain lion lying on her porch Monday. Hood says the lion hissed at her, but she wasn't scared.
She called 911, animal control and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Hood reported that she had a bothersome "big cat." A dispatcher told Ableman that it was a house cat.
A game warden tranquilized the mountain lion and the animal was relocated.
What does today's God's Story scripture teach us?
Check out what the Life Application Bible study note for 1 Peter 5:8, 9 has to say about lions ...
Lions attack sick, young, or straggling animals; they choose victims who are alone or not alert. Peter warns us to watch out for Satan when we are suffering or being persecuted. Feeling alone, weak, helpless, and cut off from other believers. so focused on our troubles that we forget to watch for danger, we are especially vulnerable to Satan's attack's.
Today's Scripture is very clear that there is an enemy at work, the devil. He is very real and will do all that he can to take our eyes off of Jesus.
How can we connect God's Story scripture to our lives?
Are there times when you feel persecuted for being a Christian? Maybe in your school? Your community? Maybe even in your family? Here are some suggestions taken from the Life Application Bible study notes ...
- Seek other Christians for support. Be sure to stay connected to the youth ministry in your church or a campus ministry club at your school. Hang out together and stay strong together.
- Keep your eyes on Jesus. Spend time in God's word this weekend. And tell someone what you discover about God's Story.
- "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) When you feel like Satan is breathing down your neck, ready to pounce, try this ... Pray Out Loud! Satan is not God - he can't know your thoughts - he can only tempt you! Call out to God to be your strength to resist the enemy!
How can we connect today's story, God's Story, and our story to others?
- Offer your support to other Christians at your church or in your school. Help them to resist and flee from the devil.
- Is there someone in your part of the world who seems to be persecuting Christians? Take some time, right now, to pray for that person to somehow hear God's Story.
- Listen for opportunities this weekend to talk with a friend about how much you depend on God to be your strength.
- Thank God for His protection!

Battle with Blood
Doctors are struggling to explain why a young girl spontaneously bleeds through her pores without being cut or bruised, the Telegraph reported Tuesday.
Twinkle Dwivedi, 13, loses blood through her skin without explanation.
The teen, from India, has had to undergo numerous blood transfusions after losing blood from her eyes, nose, hairline, neck and the soles of her feet, according to the report.
Dwivedi's blood is watery and light in color, and doctors say attempts to thicken it have failed.
Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi believe the teen may have a type 2 platelet disorder in which the blood is low in clotting particles.
But Dr. Drew
